Time for a Change

Welcome to Lionel Tarot!

Thanks for visiting! I’ve rehabilitated this site, worked out the dust and grime out of the blog’s back-end and made the archives a bit more readable. In case you missed it, I have a Patreon page – with your patronage I’m eager return to once again creating a unique place online to explore tarot, modern spirituality, and more.

It’s been years! Where have you been?

This blog was most active from around 2009 to 2013, part of which I focused solely on tarot reading, teaching, and writing. I’m grateful for that period, but it wasn’t meant to last forever. I moved from my hometown, finished a degree, and am now working as a web developer and IT director at a fantastic poetry publisher – and that’s after an almost 3 years into a career at an excellent small non-profit.

In the background I’ve missed the nourishment I drew from writing about tarot, as well as the study, feedback, and discussion that went along with it. The practice of using tarot every day and writing this blog inspired a kind of spiritual discipline, and it lifted me up when a visitor would tell me that a post meant something to them.

What is the future for this blog?

I’ve changed since I began this blog 10 years ago. Then, I focused my writing mostly within a specific western esoteric tradition of tarot symbolism and meaning. Though tarot will always be important to me and worth writing about, I am less interested in the nitty gritty of occult symbolism. I’m more interested in how people’s values and beliefs shape who they are personally and in community. If I were to dive in again, I’m not sure what I would write about.

If I gain 10 patrons on Patreon, I’ve committed to writing again about philosophical spiritual topics. With that small community of interested followers, I will have a small audience capable of some diverse discussion and feedback which would make it intriguing to me. Someday, with enough patrons helping, I may get to explore podcasting, making videos, and possibly much more.

In the meantime, I’m still offering readings upon request. These days I have overhead and most of my time is taken up working so I must take things one step at a time.

I like your work! how can I support you?

To help make time for this website, I invite you to visit my brand new Patreon. If you like my writing and want to encourage me, come visit and look over my goals and consider becoming a patron. If you aren’t able to support the blog financially but still want to see more from me, drop me an email and let me know about your interest, hearing from you means a lot to me!

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch – I look forward to hearing from you.

Warmly,
Lionel
